Biatain® Alginate Dressing
An absorbent alginate dressing designed for moderate to heavily exuding wounds. Biatain® Alginate forms a soft gel upon contact with wound exudate, creating an optimal moist healing environment while helping to control minor bleeding.

- Recommended for cavity filling – Can be cut and shaped to fit wounds of varying sizes, shapes, and depths; conforms closely to the wound bed.

- Mode of action – Converts to a soft, cohesive gel when in contact with exudate, supporting an optimal moist wound environment.
Product Composition:
- 85% alginate
- 15% carboxymethylcellulose (CMC)
Indications for Use:
- Moderate to heavily exuding partial- to full-thickness wounds
- May support control of minor bleeding in superficial wounds
- Suitable for use with compression therapy
- Indicated for: pressure ulcers, venous leg ulcers, arterial ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, donor sites, or traumatic wounds
Limitations:
- Not intended for the control of heavy bleeding
- Not for use on dry or lightly exuding wounds
